Shannan E. Johnson became a Mademoiselle in 1996 at Booker T. Washington High School and the High School for the Engineering Professions. Her Mademoiselle accomplishments include: Most Outstanding Rosebud ’96-‘97, Member ’97-‘98 and Officer ’99-’00 (Assistant Dean of Rosebuds), Mademoiselle Queen ’00 and Step Team Captain ’98-‘00. Upon graduation in 2000, Shannan attended Texas A&M University on a full academic scholarship among the first class of Century Scholars. She graduated cum laude in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Art in English and Journalism. After spending a year as an Academic Advisor/Scholarship Recruiter for Texas A&M, Shannan packed her car with all of her belongings and drove to Los Angeles, CA to pursue her filmmaking dreams. There she interned at THE DR. PHIL SHOW and Cube Vision, Ice Cube’s Production Company. She also worked as the assistant to the executive producer at INTERVENTION, the A&E reality hit series. In 2008, Shannan graduated with her Master’s of Fine Arts in Film with an emphasis in Writing from Florida State University. After a long interviewing process, Shannan was accepted as one of the six Entertainment Associates at NBC Universal. She now works at the Sci Fi Channel where she helps develop scripted and alternative programming.

Brandii Mayes became a member of the Mademoiselles in 1994 at Booker T Washington High School and the High School for the Engineering Professions. While a member, she served as assistant activity coordinator, activity coordinator, president, and step team co-captain. Brandii Mayes attended Clark Atlanta University on a full academic math/science scholarship, PRISM-D. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her graduate school studies at The University of Texas-Houston School of Public Health, earning her Masters of Public Health in Community Health Practice. During her undergraduate and graduate matriculation, Brandii has researched and studied at Harvard University School of Public Health and The University of West Indies, Jamaica. Currently, Brandii resides in St. Louis, MO where she has recently completed a two-year public health field assignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She now works as a Health Equity Program Manager for the City of St. Louis Department of Health.
